Beautiful, talented and always overdressed!

Feminine, demure, a little bit austere, yet still sexy? That's the mix you get from Razan Alazzouni's creations. Razan's work evokes old "Dior" glamour that emphasizes feminity and the return to overdessed dressing all day everyday! The girl is a genius.

Razan mixes industrious fabrics with the most unlikely material to create her final look. My favorite dress is a silk kaftan with 3D hand embroidred transparent sequined flowers. Another impressive piece is a sleevless white jacquard silk top with hand embroidred lace, an absolute dream!

Razan is the most talented and hard working person I know, not just that, Razan is a perfectionist when it comes to her art. Every piece is unique and made with the utmost care and attention to detail. Her approval threshold is extremly high, hence the beautifully executed first collection for this 23 year old Saudi designer.

Sketches

Those of you who have seen fashion sketches see the abstract images a designer conjures up in order to execute a vision.

Recently in Art Basel Miami Beach a flurry of "sketchers" have traded the camera lens for pen and paper. I especially love Danny Robertson's piece entitled "Chanel Girls". The image depicts as the New York Times describes it "the stony demeanor of Mr. Lagerfeld’s mannequins, glowering, one imagines, behind outsize shades."

Also check out Blue Logan's sketches, a little more abstract than Robertson but still, hits the fashion spot.

Paris

So we land and my first stop, no joke, is Chanel rue Cambon.

I hunt for the hidden treasure, when I’m directed by Jean Luc at rue Cambon to the Faubourg shop.

After I close the deal with Cecile, and my heart flutters with joy and my bank is calling me to find out if the deal was legit I am free to do whatever now.

So we take to the streets of Paris, but we needed to refuel so we stop for lunch at the beautifully located Marly over looking the Louvre Pyramids.

As we continue along the Seine towards the Notre Dame, and the charming Ile St Louis, I find the most beautiful sight of the Pantheon.

But my heart really stops when I enter the Jardin Luxembourg, it literally is the couture of all gardens. I am so in love with this place, the beauty of it all, the flowers and the purple sky.

Green Bar

I know I keep talking about the weather being cold as if it’s Antarctica, but it really does bother me! Especially because I have this cold at the moment that is making me look like Rudolph. Enter Green Bar. Beautiful preservative free organic oils made in Bahrain for all skin types.

I swear by Rice Bran Face Elixir with geranium & lavender, it's magic to your skin, and smells like a Far Eastern Spa.

Overdressing

So the weather has been turning cold, and anyone who knows me knows I don’t like cold weather dressing, unless of course it involves fur. Even Jayz sang “And in the winter gets cold in vogue with your skin out”. I think this is what he meant:

If this is the way I could dress here and get away with it, then bring it on. Nevertheless, you will soon be seeing my interpretation of the above for my reality.

Until then, overdress.

Welcome

Welcome to Overdressed. My favorite topic.

I'm always and forever the one in the outfit that stands out be it day or night. Any day and everyday is an occassion to be overdressed.

The journey to everything extravagant and beautiful starts here.

Love,

Overdressed.
