The Anti-Hoarder

We go by this mantra "there is no room in life for junk" hence our vigorous spring cleaning attitude. And to us "spring" comes every 3 months, this entails clearing out closets and getting rid of things that have not been used in the last season.

Don't get us wrong we are not saying get rid of your McQueen, the McQueen stays, the 8 month old Zara dress, the old H & M swim wear, and yellowed white shirts must go! Papers, receipts, make up are also included!

Our spring cleaning territory is limited only to the Overdressed closet. This time however, while the parents are away we managed to clear out the entire house! And in doing so we came across something quiet beautiful, a white Ferre broderie anglaise bomber and mini skirt which was worn at the age of 7 (some time ago now!).

Although it is inexcusable to find something that old, we agree that the outfit is definitely Overdressed enough for us to wear today!

You might even be tempted to keep it, but your spring cleaning will only be successful if you do not attach sentimental value to objects, memories must remain in your head. Happy cleaning!

Reviving the old

Waste is the worst thing in the world, that's why you should only buy things you truly love-no matter how impractical!

Case in point, this Erdem dress from Fall Winter 2008! The dress boasts a high collar with a bow attached, think tuxedo style, a slit from the back of the neck until the lower back and to add more impracticality to the mix it's a "winter" dress made entirely out of chiffon and silk. 

Your mother would tell you to step away, but of course we stepped in!

We like to make things practical for ourselves, like hiding the bow at front of the neck by tucking the dress in and attaching a heavy Prada necklace to weigh down the fabric. We also modified the slit so its not too low (think mid-back) and added grey Woldford tights to make the whole look winter ready!


Voila! Buy what you love no matter how impractical!

Trench Skirt

Since our use of the classic trench coat is minimal, or more appropriately, non-existent it seems like Burberry has a solution for us Arabs and our urge for classics!

We introduce the Burberry trench skirt, complete with a belt! Worn here with Alexander Wang sweater, Fendi shoes, and a gorgeous cherry coloured Kelly.

Little Lamb

It seems like we are nearing the end of winter, what with this warm dust and haze. But we are not going to let go of the cold so easily especially since we just had the pleasure of meeting this fabulous sheep skin Marni jacket!

We wanted to give it 70s flair so it got paired with a pleated cream vintage skirt, Jospeh vneck sweater, vintage 70s Chanel tassel bag and of course the non vintage item du jour patenet white Sergio Rossi heels!
